Hello, I accidentally dropped my K750I into the water ( don't ask) and now the screen looks a bit odd, it has several too bright/too dark distinctive lines across the screen horizontally, eg a line of 4 horizontal pixels is too bright the next ones too dark then theres 8 pixels okay then some too bright etc. And it's a bit foggy.

Ah **** I just noticed it froze during displaying the clock when I tried it again, could it still be wet inside or is the CPU or the screen or whatever damaged ( had a fan blowing at it for 10 mins and I gave it the good shake to try to get any water out) ?

(self rant: wth is up with me, first I drop aftershave all over my subwoofer, now I fully submerge my phone in water while it's on and playing music from the radio )

Should I try to dry it more with a minor heat source, eg a low wattage lamp ?
Edit: I placed it on top of my CRT monitor's vents, subtle heat but heat nonetheless.
Will leave it there for a few hours, unless it's too hot, does anyone know how to safely dry the thing without cooking/frying it ?
Stupid me for trying it after 10 mins though.

EDIT 2: To summarise:
I dropped my phone into the water while it was playing music from a radio station. I took it out asap without thinking, screen was all white, took out battery asap and stripped it/opened everything openable on it.
Gave it 5 mins worth of shaking, followed by 10 mins of a high speed fan blowing at it.
Assembled it all except the memory card, powered on, entered pin, screen very foggy/ odd contrast but seems to work, powers up fine gets signal and screensaver works fine as does my default animated background.
I leave it for 2 mins and it goes into the ''clock standby mode''.
From this moment it froze and I again immediately took out battery, now left it on my monitor to dry, in the hope it'll work when I wake up @ 3 pm later today ( haven't gone to bed yet).

Edit just checked, had it on my mon now for 5 mins with the screen up, the screen is even foggier now, a big big water damp is filling the inside of the plastic window.
Put it upside down again with the screen down, really hope all that dam water gets the hell out of there.
Edit
Condensation is away when I take it off, but almost instantly returns after taking it off my monitor, now bigger drops, DAMN it go way evil h2o.

Wrap it in a towel and stick it behind the radiator? (lol.. I know, random but it could work!)

EDIT: Maybe a sheet.. as it's thinner and the towel may not get hot enough

I wouldn't hold out too much hope for your phone returning to its best but if i were you i would take it apart as much as possible, stick it in an airtight plastic bag with a large pack of silica gel (you can get these from the large camera chain store), keep it away from warm sources such as hairdryers/radiators/airing cupboards and avoid checking it every 5 minutes. Dry out the silica gel if necessary when the colour of the beads indicate saturation. Leave it for a couple of days and be patient. Good luck!

My girlfriend dropped her phone into the toilet at point of flush the other day. Luckily the phone stayed at the top and she just left it on a radiator for about 6 hours. Works fine now (although I refuse to touch it).

Seems to work fine again now except for the screen, which still looks odd as hell but i'm playing music from my phone now as we speak.

I left it on the volume control of my Z5500's layed down horizontally (just over the vents/top), so it had a very subtle heater for the last 5 hours.

Thats what you get when you use the phone on the bog snowy. :p

Maybe all ** waste has gone in the phone hence the screen is "crap" now. :D

Phone is back to it's old shape, screen is fixed now too, all things function still fine, just one last thing I'm wondering, but I'll ask it later as I can't be arsed making a pic of it now and asking about it...

Just renember buys:
If you drop your phone into water:
1: get it out asap
2: Get the battery out asap ( & dry it with a towell/toilet paper, heat = big nono for a battery though it might explode)
3: Subtly shake water out of the phone
4: Use a fan ( non heater) for a few mins onto the phone
5: Put it on a very subtle heat source, not hotter than the vents of a crt monitor, you risk frying your phone's insides, in my case the panel of the Z5500's speakers sufficed for 5-6 hours. Screen down and ''open bit'' up is an important note.
6: Leave it alone for 24 hours without power ( fair enough I didn't do it, I powered it on 15 minutes after having it fully submerged, causing it to freeze after a bit, don't do this though as you risk damage due to shorting, took me a full day almost to get the screen back to normall...).
7: Continue using it as usual :).
