Came downstairs this morning to find two lovely key marks on the driver side rear passenger door. They really dug in and took most of the paint away exposing bodywork. Now that I've put the baseball bat down and relaxed, it needs to be fixed. First telephone quote I got was over £300, the 2nd one, not far better. Is that the going price? Should I blowout many years of NCB and get it fixed?

Depends on how much your excess is? I would say pay the price, and take the hit.

Some people are just pure ****s, nothing but mindless vandalism.

they will need to spray the whole pannel.

is it just the one door?? any other pannels? seems steep for 1 pannel

We had this on our car, after phoning around body shops and getting stupid quotes I popped to the supermarket and there was a Chips Away (i think) guy there.

Did they entire spray job for £180, absolute bargain and you couldn't tell.

This really infuriates me.

My mum's Audi she had a few years ago got scratched when visiting my grandma in a ethnically dense area of Leicester, was only in the house a few minutes. The ****s !

Time for the South African approach to car security, methinks :-

Seriously though, to the OP, that sux m8, the sad thing is there's not a fat lot you can do to prevent this. :(

Depending on the paint they might need to blend it in to match so not just a respray of the door panel AFAIK... Whereabouts in London are you - if you're SE I have someone I can recommend.

it seems like every where you look these days you see cars with big scratches on them.
its happened to me twice so far. got my first car, a new fiesta in november last year and about 2 days before christmas someone put 3 deep scratches on the passenger side above the rear wheel arch.
then a couple of months ago it got another above the passenger side front wheel arch. oh yeah also it was only 3 days old when the wheel trims got nicked!
i recon it must be the same person doing it, and as its always been outside my house when it been damaged i have installed a security camera.
i considered claiming on the insurance but decided not to as it will probably happen again.
but yeah, its not a nice thing to happen.

know the feeling :(

some pleb recently targeted the neighbours porsche with paint stripper cue a big splash landing on our LCR

i mean cmon one of the octavia taxi sheds i wouldnt give a rats ass but the poor cupra :(
