1 of my friends is buying a PS3 just for this also, if i hadn't of bought one on release i'd be doing the same. But then again my mate got a NTSC copy of mgs years ago and he didn't know anything about so i ended up swapping about 20 games for it, and it was well worth it! :o

It's one of those titles you just don't need a review or care what they say because you'll buy it anyway.

I'm not a massive fan of the series, i have enjoyed them all and then forgotten about them. However, looking forward to this. :)
 
I am also buying a PS3 for this, MGS3 and MGS on PS2 and 1 was two of the best games i have ever played. 2 was not bad but was not as good as the other two IMO.

MGS pack for me!

Perfect voicing of my opinion. I've always LOVED mgs titles but seem to forget about them. This one however has caught my interest.

I'd like to know this too. I'd like to get the bundle if it's gonna be available here, but the release is getting closer and closer and still no word.
 
I can't believe that I am actually going to pay ~£320 for this game!

Edit: I can still remember playing the MGS1 demo time after time and never getting bored. It was truly epic...

how on earth could you not like MGS2, it was immense game, plus it looked brilliant, i remember doing that on european extreme and having 'if you get seen game over' thing on, it was so hard it was brilliant :)

And even if you were seen the AI would mercilessly hunt you down. Shame there aren't more games like mgs around.

It was good til you got off the ship.

It was bad because:
a) Raiden is a ****.
b) 30 minute cut-scenes are not gameplay, thus taking up precious gameplay.
c) Cut-scenes were far too regular, play 10 minutes, watch 10 minutes is rubbish, if I wanted to watch a story I'd watch a movie.
d) The story was pretty weak.

ok, fair enough point A ill give you, raiden was a bit of a ****, the cut scenes were all pretty well done and had a point, plus gives you a break from all that gaming (remember your meant to take breaks :p) and the story was a little odd, but still it was MGS!
 
After all the perfect scores GTA 4 got i don't take any reviews seriously anymore. I know i'm going to enjoy MGS 4 a lot more than i did GTA 4!
