When did saturday night become about Drinking?

I don't mind drinking, I drink every week. I won't go out with the expressed intention of getting drunk but I'll drink and if it happens so be it but more often than not I just find a point where I seem happy but am not really drunk.

What I don't like is people telling me I'm not drinking enough alcohol compared to everyone else so there is something wrong with me. I only don't drink as much so I can stay fit to play sports and I have seen what alcohol addiction can do to people.

don't (not you specifically) knock other peoples choices just because they have a different way of enjoying themselves

Agreed. It's their decision. But people have a right to complain I think when those people start interfering and causing problems for those that are nothing to do with them.

see im the same i will enjoy going out and not drinking to a point!

but going into clubs, dancing etc i just dont do unless i have a certain amount of drink in me

See that doesnt bother me as i stay away from "chavvy" clubs so everyone there is there for the music
and aint afriad to throw some random shapes :D ;)

I have a better time with Gary...........

Made me chuckle :D

Couldn't agree more with you there mate, I only go to clubs when proper DJ's are on, and so everyone is pretty like minded anyway as they are there for the same thing, the tunage!

Nothing iritates me more than a generic club that plays commercial cheese and where all the lager louts and idiots are, i'd take a sweaty basement full of pilled up ravers anyday.

I generally don't throw shapes in normal clubs unless i'm very drunk, but if im some dirty underground effort then try and stop me, don't need alcohol or anything else for that matter if the music is good.

Aye thats my sort of night too :D

Need to get Crasher rebuilt so we can have our OCuk mini-meets again LOL

Haha, organise one for Global Gathering. Not the best line up in the world, but should be a rocking weekend, Dahlback, Prydz, Deamau5, Sasha & Tiesto all in same tent on Friday night *drooooooool* then Gods tent on Saturday night. Awesome.

Anyway, back on-topic.

You didn't but the very fact you are questioning if it is about you is indication enough that it isn't - now there's a confusing sentence. The people who I'm directing it to are the ones who come into almost every thread about alcohol and post something along the lines of "it's going to kill you OMGFFS!!! and I've been teetotal for 26 years" - fine, that is great but don't (not you specifically) knock other peoples choices just because they have a different way of enjoying themselves.

See thats were your wrong, in 99% of these kind of situations it is the people who drink that have a problem with the 'weirdos' that don't drink.

The problem is that drunk people tend to causes more problems on an evening out the the people who aren't drinking. Its rare for a bunch of tee-totallers to get into a punch up because 'its fun' for example. And I'm not saying that everyone who drinks gets violent because obvious this isn't the case, but I hope you at least see my point.

I don't drink on Saturdays, and nor do my friends (or we do rarely). On other nights I drink because it's enjoyable to get drunk with friends. However, I don't have a problem with driving there and thus not drinking, I still enjoy myself, and it's often quite funny having conversations with them completely ruined :p

In a club though a few shots are a necessity before I begin bustin' some serious moves :o

Ive been out the last few weekends, and not had any alcohol.
Going out tonight again and not drinking, its actually more fun watching others getting drunk and making **** of themselves. Plus I dont wake up on a Sunday feeling like poo!

Id probably still do it once in a while, but I dont need a drink to have a good night anymore.

Wanna go on a date?

Because that's the British way.

Go out, sink a few litres of Dutch courage, then find some poor ******* and batter him to death.

Ah, the quaint old traditions of this sceptred isle!
I go out. Sometimes I drink too much and fall over. Never have I started a fight, let alone "battered someone to death". Sorry.

I've only got drunk once, and didnt enjoy it, so will never get drunk again.

I only have to have a couple of drinks, and i start to feel dizzy and tired, which is why i tend not to drink, plus all the getting ready before hand, having to get to a venue, I just can't be arsed, maybe its because I'm lazy and anti-social lol, but I just don't enjoy going out.

I do however enjoy LAN gaming on a weekend if I can. I just dont enjoy clubs/bars etc. I do enjoy going to casino though, as theres a chance I might make some money, but this is about as much as I enjoy leaving the comfort of my own home

Am i ab-normal? :p
