Well done P&O

you have just made a grown man cry with the events that happened.

a fitting tribute for a lost one and a pat on the back to the captain and P&O!

That's such a lovely thing for them to do, and a great way to honour your mother. You should send a letter/email off to Simon to thank him for arranging it for you, it's always nice to hear that you've made a difference to someone.

Firstly, sorry for your loss :(

Just shows that beyond all the beauracracy and automation, there are still people who have common sense these days. Also an excellent gesture by the crew.

Very sorry to hear about your Mum :(

But I must say big thumbs up to P&O sounds like they really did there best on the day ...gives a bit of faith in mankind.

I must admit that when I used to work in the industry, the guys on the ships, engineers or deckies, are generally one of the nicest groups of people to work with. I did quiet a few trips when doing installations and they always went out of their way to make sure i was ok even though they were the customer.

As for P&O, well, they have some great guys that work for them in channel house. Their fleet director is a top bloke, and the north sea guys over in eurooport are flipping hilarious! :D

It's really touching that a large company suc as P&O are willing to actually help their customers, especially with something as deeply personal as this. The fact that the captain other senior members of the crew attended really shows that they care. That was a very touching story indeed.

I'm sorry for your loss, but I'm sure that your Mum would be very happy with all that you are doing for her, with regards to the amount of time, thought and effort you are putting into scattering her ashes.

That was very good of them.

Anyone else notice it was Captain James Cook ? :)

We sure did, we all had a smile when he introduced himself.

As a follow up, as I forgot to post it last night, whilst in Bruge we bought a thank you card for the crew and of course sent a thank you email to Simon upon our return.

I agree, have taken that route twice, usually take my own food on board, and no one said anything about eating the food in their lounge, and they offered to clean up all the mess too! Good service! Nice ships too. Much better than the aviation industry.
