3 week old ps3 not readfing discs

Send it back to them then and don't take any bull**** if they tell you your warranty is with Sony and not with them ;)
 
Alternatively phone Sony and get a replacement sent to your door, saves the agro of packaging and costs :)

how long does ot tke as I've a a few days of this week as was looking forwward to getting to play it as I have just moved and have probably played for like 15-20 hours in the last 3 weeks!

Gutted does the replacements warranty start again or does te existing warranty stand as it seems pretty poor that it bust after 3.5 weeks and like 20 or hours of use !

whats the number for sony Uk ?
 
Well When mine broke I phoned on the Saturday and they offered me a replacement on the Tuesday but I wasn't in so I asked for the Wednesday and that's when they came. It as simple as a swap service, they take yours and give you the replacement, no box, controller etc just the console.

Check the sticky for Sony's number. Just give them your console serial number over the phone.
 
just spoke to them at 17:50 so they leaving off soon as lines close at 1800 but they told me to do format which i had and then they said remove harddrive for 20 mins !!! i guess this is a stalling tactic as the guy wanted to leave off !! its the bluray drive not the sodding HD is it . back on phone monday then !

tried what he said and surprise, surprise it dont work i am annoyed with hes stupid stalling tactic and now the lines are closed !

how unrealiable are these PS3's as i ony got it for gtv4 and avoided the xbox360 because of the of faulty consoles and now look what happened !

my wii had to returned after 6months too.

bah i love my trusty pc never lets me down and when it does i can just strip it down and fix it :)
 
The history of the play station brand suggest that it more likely to brake over time rather that the 1st few months (tho it is usually something to do with the drive)

You should have just told them you'd already tried leaving the HDD out forcing them to get a replacement out a.s.a.p.

Mine was brand new, and as far as I'm aware you will only get a refurb if yours is a 60GB model and you insist on a like for like replacement.

Indeed, my old PC from 2004 still works perfectly and my current is approaching 2 years this year. (aside from the GPU and sound card, they are newer) Not a problem with any components. :)
 
they want me to fax invoice but i have n0 fax machine, so have sent using BT online fax service but they keep saying they not recieved !!! bloody hell I'm off work next week looks like i got to go in just to use the faxd machine
