Just had an hour in a new E60 530d...

I registered for this efficient dynamics weekend as soon as they published it on the bmw homepage... they seemed to forget about sending me an invite :(

E60 rocks mate, really going to miss the M5 when it goes.

However, i would have an automatic diesel, my idea of hell. Had a 330d for a while, it wasn't bad but i'd never go for a diesel again.
And i've always hated automatics, I don't feel in control of the car. Plus the obvious slow/ less mpg.
 
Sounds like the same feeling I get after driving a modern oil burner. Great for a lazy cruiser but as soon as you want to drive a bit more 'positively' there's nothing there...

OT who was that guy who got into a hole when he said he drove a manual 535d?
Im not saying you didnt drive it, just reminded me when you mentioned a 535 lol

But they are as recommended - they're in the limits recommended on the sticker by the drivers door.
