Hey guys, before virgin media was formed i was with NTL on their small 1mb package. Now virgin have come along i've noticed the minimum is around 2mb to buy. I understand i'm not a new customer, but the price i'm paying for 1mb is ridiculous. Am i entitled to any upgrade of sorts? or should i just cancel and move to another company, the only thing stopping me at the moment is the downtime on the net.

Cheers.

I'd be surprised if your connection hasn't been upgraded automatically. Have you run a speed check recently?

virgin usually upgrade the cutomer to the next lowest level when they drop the lowest.

In this way I have moved from 300K -> 512k -> 1MB -> 2MB still paying the same price.

This is on cable

that sounds familiar, cable only allows for 3 tiers of service per modem type (due to limits on the config files) from memory, so when they introduce a new speed it normally means anyone on that tier (bronze/silver/gold) gets the upgraded speed either automatically or the next time they reboot their modem.

At leas ton Cable.

If its virgin.net (ADSL) your talking about, the mother-in-law was in the same position and they hadn't upgraded her. So spoke to them and I think she got a free wifi router and a month or so free i think. Then I found out O2 were available so I spoke to Virgin for her and they agreed to drop the price to match O2 for another 12 months service.
