Astronut vid.

A youtube EVA clip/still from NASA. Minus the astronut.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCE0X8g-2yc

I had a quick search and could not see it. Seems a bit bizarre for NASA to do something like this....

interesting.... i don't know if its fake or not but after i wouldn't believe anything the US gov or NASA tells anyone to be 100% truthful.

what about that brit who hacked into NASA and said there was a department just for covering up images with objects in space that they couldn't identify so just covered them up.

My theory is there isloads and loads of conspiracy theories around 2-3000 ??? I dunno. If only one is true we have big problems in our midst.
2-3000 conspiracy theories. Not even close I suspect. 10x that? 100x that? Maybe. Who knows. Maybe some of them really are true. Shock horror, the world is not going to end. :/
Jeeze me227 you really offended me. Mr astronut is too big to get in his rocket ship...its a fake...How is he gonna get back to earth..:D
Perspective dear. Astronut has clearly floated out of the cargo bay towards the camera. As to getting back, well, Houston might have a problem there. I don't think the SRMS can reach that far and he doesn't appear to be wearing a SAFER. :p

The biggest problem with these pictures is that the space suit helmets are coated, and also have a visor, both to reduce glare and also to reduce the effects that would otherwise be caused by transitions between day and night (human eyes take time to adapt to sudden changes in lighting conditions). As a result, if you look at photos of space suits shot head on, you probably won't be able to tell if there's an astronaut in them at all - what you will probably see is what/whoever took the photo. However, get the angles and lighting right, and since the astronaut can see out, you can see in. Hint - you stand a better chance if the lighting comes from the side/behind the astronaut.

You can even try this one at home. During the day in sunny conditions, get someone to stand looking out of an upstairs window that is easily visible from outside. Go outside and look at the window. Do you see the person standing inside? Probably not. Now try the same with the downstairs window. You may well see them this time.

The crux of the problem with this hoax, however. What would the reason be for the hoax? Are they saying the ISS is a CG creation, or just that Piers Sellers is a CG creation? If the former, then please explain why (given the right conditions) anyone can go outside and look at it (in quite some detail if you've got a good enough telescope).

I hope the conspiracy theorists (and everyone else who wants to of course) are paying attention to STS-124

NASA TV (link requires broadband connection and Windows Media Player).

PS - higher quality streams available elsewhere.

I think all this conclusively proves is that NASA are employing the smoke monster from Lost to do EVAs. Which all of us conspiracy nuts knew all along anyway.

(Or it could just be that the bloke is looking to the left, which if you take a look at the orientation and position of the little white trapezoidal tab on the right of the cap you should be able to work out for yourself)

Having now looked at the pictures over and over I can clearly see the head turned away to the side and the area where the guy claims is 'empty' is as said just the side of the "snoopy" hat the astronauts wear ... pretty simple really - in fact Inquisitor's post really helps show the fact !

I love a conspiracy theory, but I'm a skeptic too, if nasa did fake this image I find it hard to believe that they would 'forget' to put the astronauts face in there. I can believe they would want to hide their technology - not from the public, but from other nations that might copy their designs, I don't think that is a conspiracy, it's just common sense.

looooool if its that easy to copy technology from pictures like those then why do we not have mobile gundam suits right now? plenty of pictures on the net of them.

iv never seen anyone use x-ray vision on a photo of e.g a car to see *** sort of engine it has under the bonnet.

so you dont believe that technology companies look at other peoples designs? fair enough. Regarding mobile gundam suits, I have no idea what you are talking about :p

Bearing in mind ISS is an international collaboration, NASA have to share it anyway.

NASA 'built' 8 trusses (S6, S5, S4/S3, S1, S0, P1, P3/P4, P5), plus Destiny, Quest, Nodes 1 & 2, and PMAs 1 through 3. Of those, at least Node 2 was actually built in Italy.
Canada built SSRMS and Dextre.
Russia built Zvezda, Zarya, Pirs, at least 1 Progress (often 2), and 1 (sometimes 2) Soyuz.
ESA built Columbus and Jules Verne.
JAXA built JLM-PS, soon to be joined by JEM-PS (Kibo) and their RMS.

So, of the 27 major pieces in orbit, NASA have 15. The fact that other states have 12 modules, which have to connect with, share power with, share hardware with etc. the NASA modules kinda rules out most of the argument about secrecy. It doesn't even work with the spacesuits - Russians have been trained (and have used) the US suits, and Americans have been trained (and have used) the Russian Orlan suits.

Now if that was the Shuttle, you might have got a little further with that argument, but not far - There's a JAXA astronaut going up on STS-124, and they've had Canadians, ESA (Germany and France) and Russians onboard before. :)

Oh, and there's one other inconvenient truth - Piers Sellers was born in the UK. Yes, he's a US Citizen, but right now that's the only way for someone from the UK to be an astronaut (and he's not the only one to take that route).

What?

I see his face as clear as day. How can anyone not see it? Initially i didn't see it but the orientation of the writing on the 'snoopy' hat gives it away.

You've got to laugh that the guy making the video was completely serious about it :D

Great, reminds me of the stupid people that to this day still swear the moon landings were faked. Yawn.. he is clearly in the suit and THERE! Just his head is turned to the left and the lighting isn't catching his face very well. The shape and out line of his face can clearly be seen.. the person that posted this video should have the internet taken away from him/her

 I just watched that and did the same.. had a quick browse over those images and they're definitely faked!

Woah..

no there not  are you a nut that believes in all these stupid conspiracy, listening to people who have no idea what there looking at? whilst not looking for the other side.

I must admit (nothing to do with this vid) there are a lot of anti conspiracy peeps on this forum no that its bad but there seems to be an abundance.

Why do you think that is.

Is it because its computer related and its all logical nerdy and spock like.

My theory is there isloads and loads of conspiracy theories around 2-3000 ??? I dunno. If only one is true we have big problems in our midst.

Someone mentioned agenda before do the conspiracist and the non conspiracist both have the same agenda to prove they are right.

Because unlike the general public we look at it more than one way and don't believe rubbish we are told.
No conspiracy theorists want to look good, non-conspiracy theorists just want the truth and to silence people who have clearly got no idea what they are talking about.

The face is hard to see, but what do you expect. These helmets do not move with the head, you get huge amounts of reflections, then you have the cap and the mic in the way (which is clearly visible)
