Not at all. Look at who Maldini and Ferdinand are up against these days, the standard of players are streets ahead on average.

Surprised so many players have gone for Riquelme over other players of the same role, notably Paul Scholes.
Scholes has been the best English midfielder of the last 10 years and is an incredible passer of the ball but Riquelme is even better. I remember his display against England a while back. A total masterclass. He's an utter genius.
