Thinking of fitting M Sport bodykit to my SE, worth it??

I say do it,

Would make the car look a lot nicer,

And i would say wouldnt decrease your chances of selling the car later on as you get plenty of people who want the sport but simply cannot afford it.

Its not as if he is putting an m3 badge on the back of it now is it ;)

Go for it matey, but if you get the mv2s later on i would say lower it then. But use genuine m sport suspension if you can.

MV2's absolutely fail and it will look horrific with them on. They were nice wheels but now they've been fitted in replica to every single K reg 316 Coupe in the entire world they are the new TSW Venoms.

Other alternatives? I want to keep everything BMW really.

Cheers!

The m1v's do look very nice, what im looking at on convertibles at the moment.

If you like the m2v's then get them matey, at the end of the day its really what you like. ;)

They are a very nice rims. And as your saying you want to keep everything looking oem.

I prefer MV1s to MV2s (as Fox said, they are way too common). I went for 17" Style 44s on mine, as I hadn't seen that many about (most are 16") & they are very easy to clean :D Don't think they do them in 18 though?

Got mine refurbished from www.bmautosport.co.uk

pfft who cares how common they are, get MV2's if you like them. Just because a bunch of people put replicas on e36's doesn't make them any worse looking fitted correctly on the right car.

Pointless IMO, just pocket the cash for a new car in the future or maintanance on your current car.

How will that help him improve the looks of his current car? He's already said he's otherwise happy with it and intends to keep it for a few more years - your suggestion is of no benefit to him.

Besides, it will cost less than you've lost in depreciation by changing your mind on cars every 30 seconds and taking the 'buy a different car' route so hey ;)

Exactly, I prefer my MV2s on my Z4 to the other sport wheels (which look like split rim TSW stealths or something), it's all down to personal preference. MV1s look extremely dated now in my opinion.

Don't know why he bought it if he doesn't like the looks!

Think carefully before adding super low profile tyres, esp the MV2 or whatever, they will greatly comprimise the comfort of the car.

I've got the 17" Style 44s and would prefer a set of MV2. Don't like them that much.

Thought about adding the sport bodykit on to mine but decided not to bother. Got the sports seats already so part of the way there.

Are you for real? Perhaps he couldnt afford a 330i Sport when he bought it? Perhaps he likes the looks but likes the looks of the Sport more? Perhaps he fancies a change? Perhaps his Daddy didnt buy him a 530d?

Indeed, adding a "sport kit" aka stick on tat is going to be a groundbreaking change in all areas.

Utter tosh - that's like saying Angel eyes look naff on the e39 because every battered Saxo/Astra/e36 is sporting a set.

If you go down the Sport path, go for the MV2s as they set off the e46 facelift saloon perfectly. For reference, yours will look like this:
