AMAZING. My theory is slugs are so fat that the spider couldnt hold its weight.

Reminds me when i was a small kid just starting secondary school. The IT teacher was a really fat woman who was epileptic, whenever she came near me i was scared she would have a fit and fall on me.

if it were a male spider maybe it thought it was an overly friendly chubby female spider.

(most spider species the male is smaller)
 
Once I seen a spider on top of this like walkway on the landing in a house I was in, it was like the size of my hand, it was HUGE and blacker than the night!, I was stood on the landing for about 5 hours as I thought if I tried to walk through the big spider would jump on me. In the morning I asked my grandad if he knew about it and he told me the spider lived there and that my grandad did not bother it and just let it go about doing what it does :eek:
