Will this be any good with my EP30?

I still am confused about what i need bearing in mind the Ep30 doesnt decode the sound.

It seems a good budget solution for 5.1

Edit, is the 363 the same but black?
 
I could always go for the YAMAHA AV63 PACKAGE (RXV363 HOME CINEMA RECEIVER AND NSP110 5.1 SPEAKER SYSTEM) for £300

Or the Yamaha 761 with NSP110 speakers for £242?

Thoughts would be ace

The 363 is the 361's replacement - the 363 has HDMI switching, the 361 does not. Either way, you need to spend a bit more if you want sound via HDMI. Optical is the best option, but some HD-DVD's will only have 2 channel sound.
 
This sound stuff is so confusing with all the different specs. I just HDMI sound for ease of connection.
 
the 761 with nsp110 speakers is better then the av63 as the yamaha 761 supports sound over hdmi so as long as the source decodes hd sound and sends it as pcm youll have hd sound

I have hooked this up to my current 2 crappy old speakers replacing an old cambridge audio stereo amp.

I cannot believe how good it sounds, normal tv is great. Tennis sounds like your there. I then fired up cod4 on the xbox. Simply awesome.

Cant wait for to get some proper speakers!
