I'm looking for a Motherboard to go with below kit. I previously had an ASUS P5K Deluxe, but i'm not sure that i want to stick with the same board. I'm not fussed about wifi particularly, but i do want decent on-board sound. The rig is mainly used for gaming, and a bit of Photoshop etc... Also using Vista x64 Ultimate.

Q6600 (kentsfield)
OCZ 2GB PC2 8500 1066MHz SLI-Ready memory (plan to double this when i get new mobo)
2x Seagate Barracuda 7200 160GB HDD's (for RAID0)
Hitachi Deskstar 500GB HDD (storage)
BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 320MB
Antec Sonata iii Case with Earthwatts 500W PSU

Cheers for any advice ;)

At the moment i'm playing with the idea of the Abit IP35 pro, or maybe one of the P45 boards. How long do you reckon it'll be before the reviews start coming through on the P45's?

I know that I'm an abit fanboi but what happened to your P5K Dl?

P45s are due very shortly, already the previews are starting to appear so I would guess that with production BIOS by the end of June at latest.

BIOS chip died, and i somehow managed to void my warranty by damaging the cpu pins!?! :( I wouldn't mind, but i didn't even throw it at the wall like i wanted to... :D

I might well wait til the end of the month and see what the crack is with the P45's, although the lack of gaming is making me sweat a little lol!

Why wait beano, you have already made a great choice :D

If you always wait for the next best thing you would never have a pc :D

Just rebuilt my friends PC with a MSI P35 Neo2-FR nice little board for the price.

+1.. very nice board. Rivals DFI boards for number of BIOS settings, and clocks just as high :)

Thanks guys. I've always been warned off MSI boards, good to hear some of them aren't bad though. ;)

lol Nathan, you have no shame my friend... :p

To be honest, the only reason i am waiting is that i haven't got the money yet. When the money has appeared in my wallet i might as well go for the board that will last me the longest.
