Just stumbled across this...

Jammer

Are these things legal? I think these could have great applications, in restaurants and on "quiet" carriages on trains (that people still use phones on!) for example.

I don't think radio jammers are legal in the UK because you're broadcasting on a frequency for which you do not have a licence.

Illegal. Not to mention irresponsible - what happens if there's an oncall doctor in that restaurant? I sympathise with the hatred of people talking loudly on their mobiles in places that would ideally be quiet, but there are more factors to consider.

wow, so much fun to be had with one of these...

driving behind someone on the phone, or in traffic, would be entertaining.

Hrm I had that suspicion, although the chances of actually getting done are slim with a 10m radius :p

I would be too scared to have one on me anyway - I'd be paranoid that it'd fry my internal organs - would be nice to stop all those idiots on the train that insist on holding their phone in front of them and shouting down it (or having conversations on loudspeaker)!

Hah - great idea!
