Ford Fiesta help (Headlights)

Errr i cant remember what my lights do whilst the ignition isnt on. I wouldnt worry about it if it works whilst the ignition is on...Not sure about fog lights i dont have any in my fiesta flight.

If you want me to i will have a look to see what my lights do.

Edit....
Its possible that you have possibly got water inside the light unit.. If i was you take the light unit out and just how everything is working and connected.

with the igition off you will only get side lights sounds like you might have a blown side light normally a 5w wedge bulb

I've just checked it again, it looks like you are right! Here is a diagram.

Basically, the one on the left bottom in blue (side light?) Doesn't light up with or without the ignition. When the ignition is on, the light above it comes on dim, but the side light isnt on. On the right hand side both top and bottom are on.

Thats why i got confused thinking it was working with the ignition on. It wasn't working, just the bulb above it come on.

So your right, it's the "side light" right?

Sorry for being a complete noob, all gotta start somewhere :p

fiesta dont have have parking lights AFAIK my mk3 didn't and i'm sure my mums mk5 doesn't so i doubt the mk4 would have them so there is something wrong

just seen above post yeah you have blown side light :)

Thanks for your help :p I feel silly but oh well, all gotta start somewhere !

Do i need a specific bulb for my car? I'd order one online if that is possible?

The reason you don't notice when the ignition is on is because the dim-dip function passes a small amount of current through the headlamp bulb as well which drowns out the sidelight.

Yes, thats what fooled me :( I didn't notice untill i had someone else operate the lights for me so i could kneel down and have a good examine :)

Just goto your local motor factors mate and ask for one for your car. Will cost you less than £1 id imagine :)
