The IP45-MAX has a pair of x16 PCIe 2.0 slots, two PCIe x1 slots and two PCI slots. Around the back you'll find a PS/2 port, eight USB 2.0 ports, FireWire, two eSATA, 7.1-channel audio with optical and coaxial S/PDIF out, Gigabit Ethernet and a CMOS reset button. This board also has six SATA connectors, headers for a further four USB 2.0 ports and, of course, silent OTES chipset cooling and micro Guru BIOS. Finally, this board has four DDR3 memory slots with support for 1,600MHz DDR3 memory.

No pictures are available of these boards, but the IP45 will have an orange PCB, with the IP43 Pro having a blue one and the IP45-MAX having a black one.

No DDR2 support :O but finally, a CMOS reset that does not require opening up the case! though Asus' method is quite easy too, just let the mobo tell you you're doing it wrong then hit F1 :p

Abits IP35-Pro has a CMOS reset button on the back IO plate.

And I've lost count of the number of times I've had to manually reset the BIOS on my ASUS Maximus today.

there will be DDR2 abit IP45s (just not the MAX) & there are quite a few current & past abit mobos with external clearCMOS - I think that the first was probably the AN8 SLI with the bundled uGuru panel which came out ~Spring 2005.
Even some ~£50 abit mobos have external clearCMOS switch.

its says 2x16 crossfire, i thought the p45 chip set was only x8 x8 in crossfire.

i get more confused the more i read

yes, but X38 has dual x16 PCI-E 2.0 so even more bandwidth (although there is nothing that needs that much yet).

The J&W X48D2-Extreme has a simple push-button reset on the back panel.
