Guys,

I have an oldish X-Fi Music pci sound card and the web driver I get from the Soundblaster website doesn’t seem to be that good? Mp3 playback on Media player is unbearable – tracks continually pause and stutter! I haven’t updated all of the Vista drivers year, so maybe there’s a fix?

I remember when Vista first came out, Creative acknowledged that their cards had issues with the os, but over a year on – I thought they would have sorted it out by now

Or is it just me…

Windows sounds seem alright and I haven’t had the chance to test any games out yet?

So am I doing something wrong, or is this a know issue? If so what are my options :)

Cheers,

SW.

Well, I have got 4 GB ram? Known issue then...

Are you using the standard web driver?

Cheers,

SW.

You're really best off selling the X-Fi and getting an Asus Xonar card.

You'll have far less driver headaches.

mine is sitting in a drawer somewhere, went over to the onboard chip instead. All the popping and crackling i got from it was unbearable. With creatives support being so poor i wont be buying one of their cards again any time soon.

I'm just opening up my case now!

Gigabyte onboard - here I come ;)
