How cheap are these now?!

How many miles in a tank at motorway MPG?

My guestimates come out at stupid amounts like 30000 miles a week. Which, tbh, is just BS. What the hell is your job if you drive 500 miles a day!

he drives his cars hard - by that i mean like a maniac - he is currently on his 3rd driving ban

he drives constantly its his passion and he used to drive to manchester 2 to 3 times a week with a full load in his car over 100kg

Is it me or do you have a cousin to fit every single Motoring 'thing' you come out with?

'Oh yea I've got a cousin who does that. And one that does this. And one that does the other as well. And yea did I mention my other cousin? He does that too'

So he puts in a full tank every day but one, where he puts two full tanks in? Sounds... pretty unbelievable to me.

believe it if you want i dont really care if you do, because thats what he told me and the rest of my cousins, when we asked him, because we all know the crazy amount of miles he used to do

Indeed. Even at less than 200 miles to a tank, you would be absolutely exhausted by the end of the week...

ive got a big family

i got cousins all over the world, india, canada, america, etc

i got cousins in leicester, london, milngavie, weymms bay, renfrew, etc

i spend most of my leisure time going out with my cousins - so they are mainly who i hang about with so i guess thats why i have so many stories regarding them

Anyway back to the subject at hand, your cousin did what, drove hundreds of miles a day in his M3 with 100kg of product in the back?

Was he carrying this by any chance? :D

i dont know the specifics but he used to frive up from manchester with 100kg in the back - im pretty sure it was empty on the way down

he would travel to edinburgh, paisley all the time - you wouldnt see him for days, he would be out all the time in his car

hes had a VW cabriolet, vw golf gt tdi, audi a4 1.8t then his M3, he says when he gets his license back he will be buying a better car than his m3, he drives like a maniac - so i guess his average mpg was something like under 20 easily

he has crashed 3 out of the 4 cars he has had

but he used to do so many miles and drives them hard so im not surprised

M3:

63 Litre Tank

1 Gallon = 4.54609188 Litres

Dont know how long ago this was, so will go by £1 a litre

£500 = 500 Litres

500/63 = 8 Tanks

500/4.54609188 = 109.98 Gallons

MPG figures around 25ish, so lead foot = 20MPG

109.98 x 20 = 2199

So, 2200 miles a week. Thats 144,400 miles a year.

At an even spread thats 2200/7 = 315 miles a day, every day, for a whole year. Even if its on motorways, at 70MPH, thats 4.5 hours a day, every day, spent driving.

I hate it when people make me go to these lengths to proove there talking rubbish.

EDIT: I can only think of one career where you drive somewhere with 100KGs of 'merchandise' in the back of your car, and come back without it, and can afford to drive an M3...

its not as if he counts his money - what is the distance to manchester and back? he would do that run in 1 day

and i reckon he got about 15mpg because he would rev the **** out of it

In powered form?

How long did he have his M3? If it was 2 years must have put nearly 300,000 on it, thats very impressive, I suspect BMW GB would have been interested.

i think he had it for less than 6 months before he lost his license - his dad then sold it together with their clk and bought a range rover sport

I get 4-6mpg when bombing it and I dont think even I could do 500 quid in a week unless i was in it 12 hours a day...you sure his m3 aint broke lol

Glasgow - Manchester = 217 miles. 434 mile round trip.

Your still looking at driving to Manchester and back 5 times a week to get 2200 miles a week.

This thread is like one massive stereotype coming together.

Do you feel inadequete when you arrive at family gatherings a Mini diesel? It must be blacked out Range Rover city!
