I know, I know, don't click links in emails etc. But this is by far the best scam email I've seen regarding internet banking. Have gone through the page in a sandbox, using false details of course, and it's pretty damned convincing, ending with a redirect to the Natwest website about a change of T&C's.

I got mine ages ago, not sure what to do with it though
Well I saw a link on NWOLB and asked for one, this was a month ago so a bit miffed I only got it yesterday.

Anyway you put your card in it then enter your card PIN. Then you have to choose Respond, Sign or Identify depending on what you want to do. You then have to check the number on the screen and enter it onto the device or alternatively put the number from the device onto the PC etc. Did you not get a little leaflet with it then? I did. :)

looks quite good.

However, anyone who has opened and online account knows to type the address to the homebank in by hand.

No? :o

I always type the address in each time. I don't even trust my links incase they've been changed (not even sure if that's possible via a worm/bot)

talking of those card things i still dont have mine and im trying to set up SO's online and it wont let me do anything without it!

I got my one the best part of 6/8 months ago but I find that I have only used it about 3/4 times- mainly due to websites/payment systems not all supporting it!!

i felt like a secret agent when i unknowingly recieved a small electronic gadget through the mail....

I use a bookmark to save me typing the address out. I do know the address anyway so I can check it. :)

Got my card reader 6 months ago and haven't even touched it, i don't know why Natwest don't use them for logins like Barclays do, would make it much easier and more secure.

I think I did that, but I was under the impression it was going to be used every time a transaction was made or logging into your bank for example.

Seems to be only for transactions I think. Should really be for logging in as well, would make the whole process so much more secure. :)

Wow.

I got my card reader like 5 months ago and i've never been prompted to use it. the plastic battery seperator is still in.

Ive done transfers, paid bills, bought things... what is it for if i havent needed it for those things?
