Natwest Scam - A good one

Wow.

I got my card reader like 5 months ago and i've never been prompted to use it. the plastic battery seperator is still in.

Ive done transfers, paid bills, bought things... what is it for if i havent needed it for those things?
Perhaps they haven't actually implemented its use on the site yet? Waiting until most of their customers have one then it will be needed?

Yeah, it's the most convincing one I've seen. Passed it onto Natwest's Security guys.
Who will no doubt fall for it themselves. :D

you need it to set up a new payee, and possibly set up a standing order iirc, but not to make single payments to an existing payee. Most things don't need it but some do. You might have to activate it possibly depending on your account. I know when I got it in January the letter said it would be compulsory eventually but optional for a while.

I think mine is dodgy because it keeps turning itself off while I'm pressing numbers. Takes me about 5 attempts to get it right

Not convincing in the slightest
The grammar and spelling is still cack!

The only incorrectly spelt word is 'Unauthorized', which I bet most people will miss anyway.

Obviously you're a huge security expert that wouldn't be fooled by anything even MI5 could throw at you.

Natwest have an annoying online address which screams scam until you realize what it stands for

The whole of the first sentence is twaddle, just for starters ;)
"has been receiving complaints from our customers for unauthorized use"
Grammar isn't even close to correct, and the phraseology is all wrong.

A lot of people need to try following what is IMHO the first rule of any postal/ telephone/ online stuff- You talk to them, not the other way around :)
