Card decision & advice

i'm wanting to upgrade my systems graphics card as i feel my slightly old XFX 7900GT is a bit dated.

i've been toying with the idea of the PoV card

but i'm not sure if this is a decent purchase or not?
my budget is around £250.

i've also noticed on this card two 6 pin slots.

to run this card do these both need to have power going to them or is only one needed??

I am a little surprised that you are willing to spend so much money on a card now, with the forums awash with news on the upcoming NV and ATI releases in the next few weeks...

Thats a bit harsh mate, as you can see he is new. He obviously didn't know, otherwise he wouldn't have made a thread about it.

It wasn't directed specifically, but tehre are countless threads about "what card should I buy now?" when there are also threads about the new cards, and all of the threads about buying cards now say that there are new cards out soon.

Okay it's fair enough for a newbie, and I'm sorry if you felt it was directed specifically at you, but when people who aren't new are posting them, it's just frustrating.

I understand that it's frustrating, i feel the same. However if it bothers you so much then ignore it and dont reply to them.
