Itagaki leaves Team NINJA, sues Tecmo.

Err... I quoted Nero120, I am with you 100% on supporting the developers rather then the money grabbing companies who don't care if we play crap ports or not..

:p

For the 1000th time, sigma was a great port. Idiot dev was wrong, get over it. I really cannot see what the hell you females are on about?

I know I did re-arrange that post, but my browser screwed up and I forgot to set it right again. I was actually agreeing with you :)

i don't get it
you are wrong about it being a bad port according to most of the thread, so on what basis is it a "money grabbing company" who release bad ports of NG

So what is it that you know and i dont ?!?

Again where did I say it was a bad port? And none of this was aimed at you it was aimed at nero who seems to mis-read everything I say :p

The only thing I aimed towards you was about the royalties.

How many more times do I have to say it, I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH IT BEING REMADE ON PS3!

Shall I put it in list form so its easier to understand?
-I have NO problem with it being ported (even though its a remake)
-I Never claimed it was a bad 'port', I just said its not perfect
-All I was trying to do was make you see it from his point of view, but no all you do is get defensive, insult people and claim I'm calling you a fanboy

And I know it makes good business sense I was never disagreeing with that fact. The point I was trying to make is that I will always side with the developer/creator instead of the publisher/manufacturer who generally dont give a **** about the quality of the product and instead just want to make as much money as possible. Where as the developer takes pride in what they do and try to make the best game possible, but often dont reach that target because of pressure from higher up to get it out the door as quick as possible. (And before you jump all over it I am talking about publishers in general and Not relating it to Ninja Gaiden Sigma)

Let's start again shall we? My point is that regardless of Itagaki's feelings, releasing sigma made the franchise available to the millions of ps3 owners and was a fantastic 'port' in it's own right. It was a commercial success. Based on this I said he was wrong, and from all accounts he doesn't like the ps3 (for one reason or another) which would explain his being not happy with any ninja gaiden appearing on the ps3.

I'm not a fanboy becuase I like ninja gaiden and am glad to play it on the ps3. It is because I own a ps3 and thus if sigma weren't released, me playing ninja gaiden would prove to be a lot more expensive...

Obviously I don't want a good game made bad because of cost cutting or half-arsed dev teams, but I really don't want a guy who has it in for my console of choice preventing certain games appearing on it, surely that makes sense?

I'm happy to start again :) I never called you a Fanboy either I just said stop getting defensive over it because it simply isnt needed, 'your precious PS3' was meant light heartedly aswell, but you took it way too seriously. Next time I will include a smiley :) (see what I did there?)

I am all for Multi-platform Ninja Gaiden as I am with any other 3rd party game going Multi-platform, I was just trying to explain that it isnt nice for someone to do something against your will and I can see why he would have a dislike for it after working so hard on the series. I'm not saying he is right I was just saying I can understand how he feels.
Hell I even bought a PS3 for Sigma and enjoyed it a lot, but for me it wasn't a big enough change to completely justify the purchase (and they took away some of my favourite sections effectively dumbing it down in places :()

Also the thing about the publisher/developers was said because you called me a fanboy and I was explaining I was a fan of games and NOT publishers or manufacturers.

Hopefully that clears up any confusion and if there is anything I missed out dont hesitate to ask :)

You accused me of acting like a fanboy because I said it was a good decision to not listen to Itagaki and release sigma. I'm still waiting for some kind of explanation or a retraction...

I'm not against Ninja Gaiden being ported, all I am saying is try to see it from his point of view and stop getting all defensive when your precious PS3 is seen in a negative light because there is simply no need for it.

Clear enough? :)

Edit: I wasnt implying you were a fanboy all I was trying to say is you were acting like one and getting defensive when ever someone disagreed with you when there was no need for it.

I've seen far too many threads deteriote because of petty console war whining, so I may have been a bit too quick to bite. Apologies.

I never played through ninja gaiden on xbox all the way, so when sigma came out I jumped at it and enjoyed it all the way through. I really don't know the details, but why any developer would not want their excellent series available to other platforms is beyond me. If sigma was an awful port I could have understood, but against all the odds it was great and so I guess that detracted from his position.

I really hope NG2 comes out for ps3 at some point. Such a good series. I really hate exclusives (on either console)!

I agree with most of that and the reason it did work well (and the reason I call it a remake) was because it was made from the ground up for the PS3. Although I did have a few problems with it performance wise (screen tearing + the occasional loading during fights) it was decent enough.

It was a tiny letdown for me in certain areas mainly due to the design decisions of making it easier and completely removing some of the more difficult puzzles.

Other than those niggles I have with it, I enjoyed it a lot.

Yep, its better than the originals, probably the reason Itagaki's ****** off! His ego cant handle 'lesser' developers improving his game.

Was he that great a designer anyway? Ninja Gaiden was good, but DOA was just getting stupid with the silly spikes in difficulty, and DOA Volleyball was basically just a w*nk-fest :) (albeit a mildly enjoyable one). Gaiden 2 looks OK but nothing special either.
