Audi R8 crash video

I would imagine the damage was quite minimal, he seems to have lost quite a bit of speed by the time he gets to the wall, which is covered in nice spongy tyres ;)
 
I actually felt a sharp pain run through my soul when I heard that R8 hit the wall.

Classic case of lift-off-oversteer, that crest didn't help either...:(
 
not realy sure it was lift off oversteer like quite a few people are saying..

Surely coming over that crest unsettles the car ?

the crest wont help in that situation, but the idea is to have the car prepared and setup for the corner. he went in with barrel loads of extra speed, but the crest alone isnt enough to send a car into the weeds, he was well out of shape before the crest dominated him :p
 
Could have avoided it if he didn't freeze up.

He kept the opposite lock ON (full anti clockwise lock) which actually meant the car was always going to hit the wall once going backwards. If he flicked the wheel all the way around clockwise, the car might have flipped back round and away from the wall.

But that all depends on the amount of grip. Wasn't there so can't say anything else.

O and typical american tool, o looky a viper, il break late and catch him up in the corner, whilst going over a crest. Get some lessons :rolleyes:


edit: Damn didn't see vans comment there. That's the second time in 2 threads, sigh.

Does anyone have that clip at the ring where the ending goes something like "dad is going to kil us". I think it was a few students in a small car where they lost control and luckily enough didn't smash it.
