EverQuest 2 Free Game Time Promotion

Nice, just fished the email out my spam box.

I loved EQ2 (52 rat assassin) when it came out but sort of got bored after DoF came out and left. It was a pretty poor expansion but the later ones are supposed to be very good.

Still not sure if AoC will hold my attention so might give EQ2 another go :)

I fancy cracking out my old Swashie but I lost my game discs - anyone know where I could download the client (legally of course) or would the trial client work?

The only thing that will kill EQ2 will be SoE.

If WoW couldn't kill off EQ2, AoC won't either. AoC is chump change compared to Blizzards big hitter.

No, EQ2 will keep on trucking. Bear in mind EQ1 is 9 years old, has 14 expansions and still pulls in a hefty profit for SoE.
Both EQ and EQ2 have had diminishing subscriber numbers and have had for quite some time now. EQ has gone from having over half a million to less than 150,000 subscribers in less than 2 years. Sure it is still making them cash, but it's not good news.

It's a similar story with EQ2. Though they initially had a positive response to the latest expansion, subscriber numbers are once again dropping again. AOC has made it a whole lot worse as a lot of people have cancelled en masse. That is why they have just offered everyone 60 days free, in an effort to get as many people back as they can before they get into AOC properly.

There are two ways. You can download the standard installer from here or you can use the Station Launcher Beta from here which is much better imo as it lets you save your password rather than entering it every time you play! :p

This happens to every MMO, every time a new MMO is launched. People leave to try the new MMO, then come back again (though some do stay). It's churn, and it's nothing unusual.

The only way to gauge it is to wait 2 or 3 months from AoC's release. But I guarantee you, both EQ1 and 2 will still be here next year, making a profit for SoE.

Checked my account. True enough, 60 days free in there.

The Crivindicator will be making a return to Norath this evening...

No free subs here, but my paid subs expired early last month.

Was looking forward to some free play so I could finish trade skill levels on alts. It's not worth paying money to do it, that's for sure.

Email customer service and ask, they added the time to my account.

Wow does this work, i'd really like to try it but why haven't i received a mail or anything?

Edit: Found it, and it's for Everquest 1 as well :D That's awesome, have AoC + Eve + EQ1 & 2 to play with for the next weeks then, though i'll surely keep AoC it never hurts to have some different games :D
