Guys,

With the above mobo, there any known issues with the Realtek RTL8168/8111 Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0) network adaptor with Vista x64? I'm having headaches managing to get an internet connection to establish each time I logon.

I downloaded the latest driver from Gigabytes site and that seems to be problematic; usually only giving me 'limited connectivity' or only 'local' on startup. I rolled that back to the default Windows driver, after I got a bsod: BAD POOL CALLER - I think it said? That might be totally unrelated though? I was trying to restart at the time after getting frustrated with 'analysing the problem.'

The Windows update driver is almost as bad, and I think that came out this month!

Most stable so far is the default Windows one - currently using that.

If there aren't any know issues my mobo/os setup, what else could it be? Anyone got any ideas for things that I could try :(

Cheers,

SW.

Cool - and that's what your using? I'm still on the default Windows one...

I have a DS3P and the latest driver is broken and quite often I will get no connectivity. Every other driver release has been perfect and it's partially my fault for always installing the latest driver!!

Realtek have been posting a new driver on Windows Update every month now but the latest version does have issues. If you could install the previous update or the previous driver then you wouldn't have an issue.

I have it installed at the moment but sometimes the PC will boot with limited connectivity. I have tried using ipconfig to get a new IP, tried disabling the device/renabling, tried rebooting the router.. it's simply the latest driver is bugged.

Stick to the default driver for now until the next driver release.

damn motherboard manufacturers with their out of date drivers and stupidly slow websites

two requirements of being a motherboard producer^^
