O2 broadband vs BE Unlimited? Help Please

I am trying to sign either of the company, after migrating from Pipex failed which see myself no choice but to cease the line completely. I am planning to sign up my next ISP on another BT line which is available at home.

When I inputted my phone number to their websites, O2 told me they can offer me 16meg service at £15 a month where BE* told me the service they offer can go "UP TO" 24meg at £18 per month.

Since they are the exact company, I'm just wondering if that's just misleading from BE?
I'm not sure on this, whether BE's misleading customers in paying 3 pounds more but getting exact same speed from O2 (only 16meg and then just tell me the 24meg is only depending on location etc) or O2 just unable to provide 20meg on their end.

Help/input from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

Be* offer you up to max, where as our packages are split into 3.

When you're provisioned, you'll get the maximum possible speed your line can support for 3 days if its over a boundary.

does that mean O2 will let me keep that maximum speed if it's over the boundary after 3 days?

no, it'll drop to the top of the package boundary, but you can pay the extra for it if you want.

its basically so we dont undersell customers, if they arent getting speeds with in the package boundary they've paid for we will drop down the package and refund any difference since go-live date

Ah right. Thanks for your help. Placed the order with O2 broadband now. So looking forward to it
