Hey,
Ok here is the story.
I have always wanted to do this quite seriously (will get to my goals in a moment) but recently have just really made a push for it (in the past few months).
I have never been to a gym before, and to kind of get my body used to things have been working out with weights at home, doing curls and whatever else, plus the normal press ups, crunches and other bits and pieces.
I am joining a gym in a month or 2, basically a friend of mine does basketball, but is waiting in a few days to have a hernia operation, then after he is all a ok we are going to head to a local gym (since he hasn't been able to do much for the past few months waiting on the op).
I realize that this kind of thing won't happen over night or anything, and I also understand that it isn't something I can do once a week for 10 minutes and reap rewards.
I am a naturally large framed guy, and am about 6'1 - 6'2 in height.
In terms of goals I will be really honest, I do want to be pretty big. Maybe not quite arnie, but still very well defined muscles.
I have actually been reasonably pleased with my results from my own home work outs at the moment, and my stomach and other muscles are starting to slowly become defined (I have only doing this a few months, but people are already mentioning I am looking a lot more "toned").
Ok so if you are still with me (and it is appreciated if you are!) I have just a few questions.
How do I go about this exactly
My first goal is obviously to tone up, and slowly increase muscle aftwards.
Am I doing the right thing then ? working out with weights, running, crunches, press up ? I do weights every other day, and cardio the days in between for about 30 mins to 1 hour a day.
Oh yeah, my diet
Ummmm well, I guess the best way to describe it is pretty healthy I guess.
I do not eat chocolate, cake, ice cream, candy, crisps or whatever.
I do eat a lot of lean cooked chicken, rice, beg, several pieces of fruit a day, the odd yogurt, and that type of thing in general.
I am sorry if this post seems a little "un organized" or even "a little silly" but while I have a sort of idea of things, I just wanted a few pointers, maybe the odd link, and is it worth taking vitamin pills that kind of thing
If you have managed to make your way through all of this rambling, thanks a lot, and go gentle on me, I really am interested in this stuff but I just am very new, and googling and whatever comes up with random info that seems to contradict the last page I went to
