I'm off to a wedding next week and have just bought a shirt from M&S. Nice shirt but far too baggy around the mid section.

Anyone got any experience of a not too expensive high street shop that sell nice 'wedding friendly' shirts, to go with a suit?

Cheers.

Top stuff. I always try and do a good job. Feel cheeky for returning stuff.

Seriously, we get get tons every single day. One guy even brought back two vests from 1988 and still got a refund :D

M&S basically have a "we will lick the customers arse for everything we are worth" policy. Nothing to feel cheeky about - it's all in a days work for us.

Are you a manager or a sales assistant, seek?

Yeah it's basically sales assistant - just a temp contract until the end of the month, at which point I'm off traveling (I certainly don't plan on staying there long enough to become a manager - despite their relentless attempts at 'training' me).

Lakeland do the same with the returns. Lady brought some placemats back from god knows when, over 10 years ago, saying they had worn too quickly. It got refered up to head office and they got £12 credit!

i just fold them closely to what they were and put back in the packet. they wont be reshelved once opened anyway, so doesnt matter really.

What do they do with them out of curiosity? Is there some sort of specialist repackaging team who deal with them? Our refunds go back on the shelf regardless of state (provided said refund is given), and if that means they are bound together with tape then so be it! (can't mention where, competitor).

Internet is always good. Designer stuff like Replay and Energie do good ones. I find that most clothes are made for overweight people in terms of size-length but these ones are for people who have good physiques and so fit slim people well.

It also depends on your size. I struggle to find shirts which aren't baggy around the middle but fit and 18" neck and 46" chest (I've only got a 34" waist). A lot of stuff is too small - it can be a pain, so you have to try the stuff on first - then when you know it fits you can buy stuff online. :)

I wouldn't order stuff on the 'net if you're looking for a reasonably well fitted shirt - you have to try them on. I'd have thought any decent high street shop (fashion or otherwise) should cater for some slightly fitted shirts.

I'm 17" neck, 44" Chest and have long arms. Usually the M&S 2" longer shirts are fine but this one is unusually big.

Not too dissimilar to me, I agree with M&S shirts, whilst they are good, it feels like I'm having to pack half a tent into my trousers!
