80quid or 100 for the enermax

looking for silence here, the cors i know is silent. The enermax is supposed to top it but no one has one yet!

You think?

corsairs doesn't have the new PCI cable.
If money isnt the issue and you have too much of it go for enermax :).

On the other side im very happy with my thermaltake and wouldn't change it for anything more expensive.

my brother has the enermax liberty 620 modular in his rig. i currently use an enermax noisetaker 600w, both great psu's but ive heard a lot of good things about corsair units. from experience i can say the enermax units are very good. my own noisetaker is 3 years old and still going strong. plus with its built in fan control you can quiten it to a whisper (my case and cpu fans are louder)

The corsairs do come with 2x 8 pin pcie cables if thats your refuring too ;)
whisper quiet too as the fan bearly spins (never seen/heard it ramp up due to temps).

I've got a corsair, can't hear it at all over my 120mm fans, I love the modular design too as it helps keep my case tidy

I've got the HX520 and it's much quieter then my old, old Enermax 430w jobbie. I've found the modular cables that come with the Corsair to be really stiff and they seem to have a life of their own ie I tuck the cable into a corner and it seems to pop back out cause the cables are so rigid, still a very good PSU though :)

I'm using an Enermax Liberty 500W modular jobby and it is very quiet, as people have already said, you really can't hear it at all above the case fans.

im tempted to go against the grain and get a modu :D lol just to see what the hype is

My case fans will be silent (noctua <1000rpm silent) so silent psu is a must :)

If you have a case that sits the PSU at the bottom so it takes it's own air directly from outside the case instead of inside the case then you will probably be better with the Corsair tbh.

Having it's own cool air won't have the fan spinning up much anyway.

Pointless post though if you don't have a case that accomodates this.

i have a v350, the psu sits at the TOP of the case, above the cpu.

wtf is your problem? Its a perfectly reasonable question.
Try reading things, you might learn something? Case is in sig tbh.

So shall I just take the complete opposite of what you said and plump for the enermax?

you took that the wrong way :o

>.> he could have worded things better and not used a rolley eyes. Gets up my back :)

also, the corsairs dont make any noise. well, i say dont make any, wheat i mean is....you wont hear it. at all.

Aye I know this, have heared a mates 520 first hand. Was impressed to say the least, BUT, theres still that something not letitng me click the almighty order button..

ener is heavily futureproofed, (gfx card wise), and apparently quieter...

Looks like I cant buy one for the short term (unless i flog my hiper) have to pay advance on summer accomodation. Stupid uni.

its pretty simple. just buy either one. the 620w corsair could handle sli 8800gtx's with easy, it'll handle any single gpu for years to come. its so quite my hard drive IDLE louder. ignore choosing one for being quieter than the other if the other is already inaudible. its semantics.

I'll say sorry, even if I still read it differently ;)

I'll also play the sheep and go along with it then.

Cheers for zee help everyone!
