As the thread title suggests, I've got a few MPEG's and AVI's that I'd like to convert to the DVD-Movie format so I can watch them on a standard DVD player, whenever I've tried to burn them with Nero Essentials it seems to want the files in a different format (VOB?) I've Googled around a bit but I can't seem to find any free software that will do this for me.

Well I got Nero Essentials bundled with my DVD-Writer, but that doesn't appear to do what I want, but I've just seen Nero 7 essentials for 99p online and that includes Nero Showtime 3, so I might buy that if no one can think of any freeware that will do the job.
None of the above are free. Super which has been recommended in previous threads is although I am unsure of its strengths.
