How do I get a white crosshair in CS:S

I haven't tried it, but according to fpsbanana it works.

Nah you can only use the colours in the options menu Any other colour would not be the game and would be a hack/app running over the top.

Try putting quotations round the numbers - works in 1.6

cl_crosshaircolor "255 255 255"

although blue is best, cant see white if you look at the sky, not that there's CTs in the sky.

you can do it and its perfectly legit, i used to use a bold green crosshair but since sv_pure came out theres not many servers that it works on

Cant you just put a spot of tippex on the screen where the cross hair is, then turn the cross hair off??

Don't joke about it - a few years ago when I used to play properly, some guy in a clan used to stick a red dot in the middle of his screen for the AWP, as they removed the crosshair from the game!

You don't put a colour value in but a number 1- something I know 4 is a light blue Wont be able to play office too well with a white ch though

Seriously though, why the change?

I also find red crosshair great, especially when playing dust maps.
