Further to my thread in monitors about being unsure whether to get a monitor and a TV card or a LCD TV I have now 100% decided on getting a TV, this is what I will be using the screen for... (In order of importance)

1- PS2/PS3 gaming
2- PC gaming
3- General PC
4- TV

I have come to the conclusion that a TV will be a better all rounder than a monitor and have been looking around to see what models are about. I have been looking at the 20" Sony LCD range but their model numbers confuse me a little.

KDL-20S2030
KDL-20S3000
KDL-20S4000

The above model numbers are all the black 20" LCD's on Sony's site, from what I can work out is that the 2030 has 178 viewing angles and 1200:1 contrast ratio and the 3000 has 160 viewing angles and 4000:1 contrast ratio.

Can anyone give me a simple answer to which of the above is best, they all come in just under £300 so its not like the better one is any more expensive.

Also is there any other screens that I am overlooking?

Thanks in advance :)

Anyone?

After researching into this the KDL-20S3000 seems like an ideal tv, but the viewing angle being 160 instead of the normal 178 worries me a little.

I am not that clued up on tv's/monitors so am unsure just what a smaller viewing angle means in real world terms, I currently have a 5 year old HP 15" LCD monitor in the house which I guess wouldn't be top spec and that looks fine from whatever angle or distance I look at it.

Does anyone have this tv and can comment on it?

Also the KDL-20S4000 seems to be £350-400 so even though has the better viewing angles it means its more than what I would want to pay for a 20" screen.

Is the only reason your looking at 20" is due to size limitations?

If your looking at spending in the region of £300 you could probably up the size without noticing any major drawbacks in quality.

Heck my 28" Hanns G tv cost me £328 about a year and a half ago.

I know it doesn't fit your specs at all really but it would be almost rude not to go for http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.phprodid=MO-026-OK. Such a good price for the monitor :o

As much as I really would love to get a 24" monitor and a TV card I have now decided on getting a TV as its more practical for console gaming and normal TV and DVD usage.

Plus that 24" was more tempting last week when it was £20 cheaper :p
