how ?

he picked the team that pretty much anyone would pick

its the players who let everyone down

Christ, your the first Boro supporter I've known that would defend that moron, you should know first hand that the guy has no tactical knowledge whatsoever. Blackburn will be stupid to appoint him.

He has a point..

England might have got in to the Euro if they'd had a 'firmer' manager to whip them in to shape earlier.. but the very fact that they needed that says it all. Bunch of prima donnas. Much much more to blame than the manager IMO.

Yes, because everyone else would bring in a rookie into our most important game and put him in goal.
He also dropped our biggest creator of goals for a lot of matches, only to go crawling back, unfortunately it was a little too late for that.

McLaren picked the wrong teams, he continually picked players who were out of form in the league to play on their name and his tactics were so phenomenally poor it's amazing he was a manager at ANY level.

A large amount of those players played in the final of the Champions League so they didn't do too badly for 'prima donnas'.

If the big girl's blouse wants to shelter under an umbrella he should have managed a Ladies Football team in the Premiership.......oh wait!! :)

I will agree with that, but he still put world class players on the pitch and they still underperformed tremendously.

But with the players we have at our disposal, they shouldn't need that much management to get into the Euros

The problem with England players is that they try TOO hard due to the expection and pressure to perform, so much so they forget how to do the basics and just play their game and end up looking like a robotic peice of mess on the pitch.

Any team which only comes together around a dozen times a year needs top management no matter how good the players are. Football isn't as simple as throwing eleven players on the pitch and hoping they perform as a team.

no none whatsoever. im sure they just gave him the job for his striking good looks :p

i hate the guy but i hate the england players who seem to treat international duty like a holiday way more. cant fully blame him for all the players underperforming.

well thats what some of the other teams who qualified seem to have done . they no have where near the facilities we have. tiny budgets, players with less skill/expierience. theyre there and we arent :/

yea we needed top management so why didnt the FA hire some.

I think England are over managed sometimes though and it restricts players from playing their natural game which makes them "world class" for the club teams.
