Ok this thread is in 2 parts really instead of creating 2 threads :p

1: My cousin recently bought a 2004 Seat Ibiza 1.9 TDI sport. I finally saw it yesterday and it looks nice in black, I didn't like the inside too much as everything was plastic, the side walls and roof felt cheap blaa blaa but I did like 2 of the neat features it had that I noticed whilst driving and playing around in it.

a) The key fob when pressed once opens only the driver's door, press it quickly again and all doors open - I thought this was neat especially when returning to your car at night or in a questionable neighbourhood/unfamiliar place etc.

b) When you want to indicate on the motorway for example on most cars inc mine you have to fully initiate the indicator stalk or hold it for a few seconds whilst you manoeuvre into the new lane. On the Seat I noticed if you simply tap the stalk it will indicate 3 times then go back to rest - perfect for switching lanes without having to hold it or take it off indicator like on other cars. I also thought this was a really neat feature.

It was also faster than my car :/ need new car!

2: Today I saw the 20078 Volvo C70 at Morrisons so parked next to it, got out and had one glance at the centre console (top was down) and could not look away but forced myself too incase the owner thought wtf. I'm a sucker for futuristic and modern looking gadgets so this pulled me in:

Looks awesome!

That is all :)

1a)My Focus has the anti-hijack door locks. It's annoying.

b) That's a handy feature, but as someone who changes lanes slowly in most cases, I find holding the indicator a bit more useful.

2) I agree, I really like that floating Volvo dash. Nice to see something a bit different.

I'm finding myself liking volvos more and more, modern design mostly looks ****, volvos are going from boring looking boxes to something that's actually starting to look quite appealing compared to all the other stupid designs coming out.

Your 3 Series will do that if you've got it set up to.

I think the question is, did you park in the right place in Morrisons?

My car autolocks itself when moving off :D

This is the most annoying thing ever, the 530d does it and I had it turned off on my 530i. Becuase the E39 doesnt unlock the doors once you turn the engine off, so you've got to manually unlock them.

Low quality BMW tosh.

You should have invested in high quality Ford doorlocks like mine, which, when cold, lock themselves completely randomly. It only does it when really cold though, which is always the best time to get locked out of your nice, warm car.

I'm sure mine unlocks the doors. I think. Anyway opening the door handle twice isn't a major issue.

The Astra's do this, wish it was on the Saab. :(

I like the keyless entry system in my swift. There are no visible locks on the doors, just tiny rubber ovals that you tap once to unlock the driver door and double-tap to unlock all, also you dont have to get the key out and put it into place before starting up the engine a la BMW, just get in and twist the ignition and off you go.

My golf used to have that, I got VW to disable it. It was really annoying because half the time the doors didn’t open even if you double clicked. So you would be trying to get into the boot in the pouring rain and having to mess about with the key fob!

My ford does both of those things, but has to be set up to do the locking thing. I noticed today on my steering wheel that it has a centre marker on the bottom of the wheel where the leather meets which I thought was a nice touch.

I found this with the Mk5 Golf I drove the other week. The remote fob was so unresponsive. Probably just needed batteries.

I'm a sucker for centre consoles with loads of gadgetry as well :o
