2GB (2x1GB) Corsair TwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400 (800), 240 Pins, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 4-4-4-12

2GB (2x1GB) Corsair TwinX DDR2 XMS2 Dominator, PC2-8500 (1066), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 5

I have the extra £20 to spare and I'm wondering if it's worth getting the 1066 over the 800?

Cheers,

G

I would get the 6400 unless you have a CPU with a low multi and you are looking to overclock

pc6400 will do 400mhz fsb without effort, after that it needs to be overclocked.

pc8500 will do 500mhz fsb without being overclocked.

I'm a bit noob, does that mean it IS worth the extra 20?

Just that I need to make my decision today.

It depends how high you want your cpu's fsb to go to.

The multiplier of your chip is x9. So it'd be running at 3.6ghz with a 400mhz fsb.

basically, pc6400 is fine.

Fair play :)

The CPU will be the next thing I will upgrade, to most likely something Quad core. But I don't know what yet.
