I'll say the same thing i've said in every other one of these threads. If it's not an external addon, then MS are screwing all their past customers. It would be a shockingly bad business move too surely, I can't see the blu-ray consoles moving too quickly, Where as all homes that already own a 360 would no doubt sport a nice new Bluray expansion if the option was available.

Hope it's not true. Only because they didn't include a HD DVD drive in the 360 (I stand by this). If they do include a blu ray drive with the 360 this will ultimately show that the next Xbox will have games on the blu-ray medium.

If they release a separate drive I have no problem with this. But I bought a Elite thinking it would be the "media" choice, I would have liked it to of included some sort of HD drive.

MS replaced my friends xbox 360 launch model as it was too noisey,. So if it bothers you just do the same. His new one was a fair bit quieter but still not stealth

It would be a major mistake for game companies to release games on the blu-ray 360 because only a select few will own the blu-ray 360s. (At thats only if it was even possible!)

if it's true then ill be happy,im glad i waited to buy a console and was split between the 360 and ps3,if blu ray does come to the 360 then i will be buying one for sure.

whats this rubbish about noise???? i think people have a point when you are playing a game as the dvd drive is spinning a millions times faster than when you watch a dvd, but i often watch dvd.s through my 360 and its half as quiet then as when im just on the dashboard, as all the fans seem to quiet down.

do you use your loud surround sound system late at night when watching the odd dvd then? is it still LOUD enough to drown out the noise?

you know even my ps3 does grate me sometimes when watching films. it is annoying, more so with dvd's than bluray. it seems upscaling the dvd's is more intensive.

I think the problem with talking about the 360 noise is that it varies between different revisions of the console so much and it's an entirely subjective thing to comment on.

My 360 is one of the typically loud ones that you can hear over the TV when there's not a lot going on in the game/DVD, but my friend's elite is totally silent on the dash from more than 50cm away and you can only just hear the DVD drive, but he claims it's loud!
