its what you get used to. i wouldnt say my htpc was loud, it isnt really. but when you turn it off you still think 'oh, no noise' lol
do you use your loud surround sound system late at night when watching the odd dvd then? is it still LOUD enough to drown out the noise?
you know even my ps3 does grate me sometimes when watching films. it is annoying, more so with dvd's than bluray. it seems upscaling the dvd's is more intensive.
You must be pretty popular with your neighbours.i listen to dvds pretty loud
like last night, watched tomb raider 2 pretty loud didnt finish till 3.30 i dont like watching film with an headset, its gay.
ain't such a arrogant douche.
ps3 is stupidly quiet most of the time though, definitly the winner for ergonomics
It's the least ergonomic of this generation with its decades old pad design.

Absolutely correct, if only everyone could fathom this. If all components were the same in all revisions then the case might be a different one.I think the problem with talking about the 360 noise is that it varies between different revisions of the console so much and it's an entirely subjective thing to comment on.
The problem here is, will Microsoft then start making Blu-ray games? Thus forcing current owners to purchase said add-on (I'm talking MGS4 rumour here)Noise issues aside, another budget blu-ray player on the market can only be a good thing for everyone. Blu-ray will be more widely adopted, thus reducing the cost of the films themselves and other blu-ray capable prices will have to reduce their price to compete.
Indeed.The irony.
The machine itself is also fat, ugly and hideous compared to the 360 and Wii. Most ergonomic? Must be having a laugh!
A matter of taste surely, I prefer the PS3. Does that mean I have no taste? You possibly think so, but i then think that the 360 looks hideous. Which just shows people have different preferences.
I also prefer Brunettes to Blondes

I think both consoles look ok in shape and style, however the PS3 looks more 'quality' compared to the 'cheap' looking plastic of the 360.A matter of taste surely, I prefer the PS3. They don't exactly have a great reputation for customer respect anyway. They won't, it would be reputation suicide.

I think this sub forum is pure evidence that console users are pathetic whingers becasue they can't justify having both formats so feel the need to pick faults with one or the other.
The 360 is a bit noisy, boo hoo. Don't like it get a PS3. If you were really bothered about blu Ray you'd get a PS3 or alternative player.
In other news, probs gonna sell my 360. Can't be bothered with it anymore. Console-less I shall be.
