Afternoon,

From tomorrow I'm going to be working in South London (Denmark Hill, SE5 to be exact) as i'm running another pub for a week or so.

I live out in West London, near Ealing Broadway. All my travel will be paid for on the company expenses - I was just wondering if I could buy a week's travelcard between a tube station and an overground station, to save buying a ticket every day to travel?

Any london travel experts here?

Thanks :)

i think you can (well I have for North London into Central London) but i may be wrong :P

ask the bloke at the 'ticket office'

I would have thought your best option would be to get an Oyster and use that. Set up an account online and print out the bill. It'll be more cost effective (I think!)

The stations will be in travel card zones. You'll need Zones 1-4. (Assuming Denmark Hill is in zone 4 or less.)

EDIT: It's in Zone 2, so yes, Zones 1-4.

Yeah it used to be an O'Neals, it sits right on top of the train station. Used to win the pub quiz there regularly. :p

Yep, that's the one. I'm there from tomorrow if you want to pop in, just ask for the manager :D

I've already got an Oyster - I'd use that, but i'm not going to pay for my own travel.

Can I get a travelcard that lasts for 7 days? I can get this put on my oyster.

Oh God, that place! I remember that. Our bassist used to live round the corner so I remember going there a couple of times.

Yes. Zones 1-4. Just walk up to the teller in the station and ask for a weekly 1-4 travel card. It's cheaper than buying online, and you don't have to faff about "collecting" the card from a nominated station. (On a side note, I ****ing hate that. Just put it on my damn card already. Idiots.)
