Coldplay's new album...

fourth album doing well thinking up new ideas and sounds? well it shouldnt be hard for musicians...its their job. how many albums did the beatles produce? 12? 13?

not a fan of coldplay any more, the guy annoys me, and the new single is dire, gone downhill from parachutes

12? 13? albums too many imo :p

Coldplay are annoying now yes far too smug and "were the best ever and this song is the best ever" for my liking.
They have disappeared up their own rear ends imo.

Brilliant album, takes a little while to get used to it, but it has grown on me in a very big way!

Probably some of their strongest work to date.

I love how people can just dismiss it just because its coldplay..

Im not a fan of ignoring success, If they are up their own **** then fair enough but its still a cracking album... head and shoulders above a lot of the same so called "indie" music that is drowning the place currently

Annoying really, it seems it's cool to hate Coldplay.

From what I've heard so far, this album is awesome, not sure if it's on a par with Parachutes yet though.

Parachutes and Rush of Blood to the Head were amazing albums, but was severly let down by X&Y.

This new album seems to be a grower, liking 42 and Lovers in Japan.

Listened to it on MySpace last night and quite like it. Only listened once mind but Violet Hill still sticks out for me. Perhaps because it is their first single off the new album. :)
This album should be with me tomorrow.
Same same. Despatched yesterday. :) Can't wait. :p

Nothing's beaten Rush Of Blood yet, X&Y was a bit of a let down for me.
I can see what you mean. I think A Rush Of Blood To The Head as an album was stronger but X&Y had stronger individual songs.

The problem for me with Coldplay is what they represent, rather than their actual music (although that's not to say that a hell of a lot of their music is absolutely horrendous). They have actually done some alright songs along the way (I like Spies probably the most), but they seem to just represent complete mediocrity for me. Every major Coldplay fan I've met has terrible music taste, and also is themselves incredibly bland a lot of the time.
