Spec me an MP3 player

Looking for an MP3 player for under £100 with the best batterylife possible.

Winamp, its free and requires no battery (unless you have a laptop)

For my serious answer, I would get a K800i phone with a memory card. It will play all your mp3s take pictures surf the web and even make phone calls. All for under the £100, I think they are about £80 ish.

isnt mp3 player function on like 99% of the mobiles out there? Whats the point carying around another device. Unless u need loads of storage space just get the biggest memory card or two for your phone. u'll prolly need to charge the phone everynight tho.

im looking at mobiles too (HP IPAQ 614c or Asus P750) as i know the asus can do 12hrs mp3 playback with the screen forced on so it should be like 20hrs+ without the screen/track changing. I dont particularly want another Sony Ericsson phone as i find the memerysticks are irritatingly slow to copy 4gb it took almost 6 hours. I know the phones are like £300 plus but think of it as £100 Mp3 player £100 Phone £100 Satnav plus it will have mobile internet im really torn what to do.

So definatly worth checking out the Sony range if battery life is your main priority although it has to be said I do get annoyed that iPOD sheep do have a vast array of docking stations and other addons for their mp3's compared to mine but then again I've not heard of any Sony batterys giving up the ghost shortly after the warrenty runs out

i agree, i have a sony 8gig & battery life is around 30hours

Sony mp3s always have brilliant sound quality - just watch out for their own ATRAC files which cannot be converted into mp3 and will only play on sony devices.
