Lending your car to a friend - would you?

As long as they were insured and everything, I probably wouldn't see it as an issue. I trust my closest friends and they all probably better and more experienced drivers than me anyway.

For example, if I drove a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 LS and Muffin wanted to borrow it, I'd refuse.

What about if you owned a RR Sport, and I wanted to take it to a wedding over the weekend? ;)

Depends on the circumstances - but I haven't got any specific problems with it.

If I had something a bit more special or classic for example I would be a bit more reluctant, as would most people I'd imagine.

Many years ago, I bought a Nissan Pulsar and had to wait for it to come over from Japan. I sold my 205GTi quicker than expected so needed a car for a month. A mate had had a very nasty accident at work (so much so that his leg eventually had to come off) and so he couldn't drive. It was a rather dog eared R5 turbo but still quite nippy in a straight line.

I sold my 205 and my final ride in it was by its new owner ove rto my mate to pick up the R5. I got 200 yards from his house, enjoying this new fangled contraption called boost and hit a badger

Completely destroyed the NS corner of the front valance. Just a big badger shaped hole.

Avoided my mate for a week while I had the car repaired. Looked better than when I picked it up. It was only months later after the car was sold I eventually owned up.

My friends and I frequently swap vehicles around depending on what we need.

Between us we have access to:

Lexus GS430
Lexus IS250
BMW 330ci
Honda Accord 2.2vtec
Volvo V40
Mondeo 2.5 Ghia X

It's the V40 that get's borrowed the most. We share it for tip runs etc.

Nope wouldnt let them borrow it, as it takes a while to get used to the little quirks and they would probably prang it.
