Thinking of buying a PS3

Should i get this:
Playstation 3 console 40gb
Metal Gear Solid 4 + strategy guide
I Am Legend (blue ray)
Cost: £334.99

I wont be using the strategy guide first time through for obvious reasons. And i already got i am legend, but this is the best bundle ive found.
 
I thought that looked pricey tbh, so I did some searching where i'd seen ps3's for the last few months and the price seems to have risen again?

I was able to find new ones for £260 delivered not that long ago.

Very Very Pricey that mate.

Your getting robbed. I got my PS3 2 months ago for £250 delivered + i bought an extra controller, GT5 Prologue and Drakes Fortune for no more than £310. So i can safely say, stay away!
 
Does seem pretty dear, I managed to get a great deal 2 months ago so I bought it in readiness for MSG4

PS3 40GB + Uncharted + Dual Shock 3

Total spend = £240 :D
 
i got my 40gb ps3, with ratchet and clank, drakes fortune games. also the newest james bond, and spiderman three, aswell as a free hdmi cable for 297.

official price is still £299 rrp, companies started discounting this as low as £269. Then the GT5:P & GTA4 bundles came out and since then I ain't seen console for less than 279.99 tbh

No idea why (or if the above bundles are the reason etc?)

Think the renewed interest in the PS3 has put the prices up - first GT5 prologue, now MGS4, plus Blu Ray coming through as the sole HD disc format means that it's a console in demand.

I bought my 60gb second hand back in Feb for £325 shipped, with an HD cable plus Motorstorm and Resistance. Seems its back up to release prices as stock becomes a bit scarcer.

I would spend the time setting up a profile, you'll need one if you're going to play MGS online.

Online gaming is free, but a lot more limited if you're used to Xbox Live.

Most of the new games require installing taking anything up to 25 minutes. It's an absolute pain and they are quite big installs. For example DMC4 is a 4.9GB install so that 40 GB hard drive isn't going to last long.

Reason for these installs? Blu-Ray is only 1x read speed.

i hope MGS4 dont take too long by the sound of it, the game doesnt keep u bored from waiting.

And the Bluray drive is 2x. not 1x
