8800gt for a p35 pro xe

Yes they are all fine, but remember the new ATI cards (the 4750 in particular) could be within your budget, and apparently will beat the 8800 GT by a bit, they will be released in a few weeks.

Is that true about the 4750?

I've managed to find a Zotac 8800GT 512MB for £99 delivered which I think is a bargain.

Should I purchase it or wait? Bearing in mind I don't want to spend more than about £120.

4850 should be around £140ish, and is early results seem to show it 40% faster than an 8800GT. So if you can pick up an 8800GT for £100 they're about the same bang for buck.

I could stretch to £140 in Junes pay day :) the performace increase and DX10.1 would make it last slightly longer, my mb is xfire which also would give me an option in future.

Having used Nvidia for well over 6 years now Ati cards and the reports of bad drivers and games jumping on the 'optimised for Nvidia' nonsense slightly unnerves me :( and i'm currently playing Age of Conan (great game but so buggy) which has issues with the current Ati cards.

But what about the 4750, any news on this card?

There is a 4750 (supposidly) but the card everyone is actually talking about is the 4850.

For £100 the 8800GT is a great bang for buck card, you arn't going to have any trouble running anything with it.

But if you can wait a couple of weeks, do so and see how the 4 series pan out.

I will wait a couple more weeks, my quidco will be paid by then fingers crossed. :)
I should be able to afford 140ish.......hope they don't retail for much more.
