Is it possible, I usually find I have to rev the other car in order to create enough power to start the other, there is nobody in my house atm and need to get the other started. Just ask some random on the street or what lol.

Any tricks would be good :)

I dont have to do that with my cars if the other needs jump starting. My little 1.1 fiesta can jump start it without having to revat all. If you feel you need to rev it then rev it get out then jump in the other car?

Like I said I've always found it needs a little revving in order to create enough power to start the other, or am I just doing somethign wrong. It's a 2.0 Vectra starting a 1.4 Rover

Unless your battery is huge and needs some serious power it shouldnt at all. Unless the alternator is weak on the car your jumping it with

I start my clio 2 litre with my 1.1 fiesta all the time no problems without revving

Lol, I'll go have another go in a minute, the alternator is a good one as its just been replaced. 120A Bosch unit, the best you can get for my car.

Leave it connected with the engine of the car running for a minute or two before you try and start the other one.

You shouldn't need to rev the engine of the other car at all really.

leave it connected up for a few mins (rev the other one) then back into yours. shouldnt need reving at the same time tbh

I started my Corvette with my uncle's Renault 1.2 Clio, on my own. Just let it idle for a bit then walked over and BRAM! Started right up :D

Did look quite funny though :D

Well, got it started, think finding a better earth helped a lot :) but left if running for a good 10 minutes. Turned it off cranked over and nothing, so I think there is something else wrong there. Gutting, the battery has been run completely flat by an inspection lamp quite a few times, is it time for a new battery or investigate things like alternator?

i had to push start my punto once at about 1 am, had to push it down the street which was a slight hill luckily and then run along side and jump in and start it

Leaving a car at idle for 10 minutes will do very little to revive a completely discharged battery.

Had the same problem with the gf's car. Took a while to find a decent earth and until we did her car just wouldn't turn over.

You'll need to take the car out for a decent drive to recharge the battery though. 10 mins is just not enough.
