I haven't been on for a few days as one day I was busy and then my game wasn't working.. it would stay on the loading screen for a few minutes and then crash

Just reinstalling to see if it fixes it.. may come on later if people are still on by the time it downloads again

I've had to play a lot with my clan and I've just got Grid and CoD4 so been playing them

Will get back on the OcUK TF2 scene asap though!

Dustbowl, 2fort and Goldrush and Badlands are the most popular maps on most servers. I recommend sticking to these for now until you have an established user base.

I've been playing pl_heights and lazytown recently - both excellent but I agree that many custom maps are awful and some of the official maps aren't up to much.

Perhaps having a night for pl, cp and ctf? Is that too much messing about Oxy?

My fps on tf2 is a bit sucky, I might have to drop my res even. I havent used the hl2 engine recently so what switches might help an ati card get better performance.

Im going to try this lot in the autoexec:

mat_picmip -3
mat_parallaxmap 1
r_lod 0
mp_usehwmmodels 1
mp_usehwmvcds 1

I have this server in my favourites but dont really see anyone unfortunately, I dont play tf2 much but thought I would try it out though Im not big fan of deathmatch type play

Those cvars aren't exactly going to help you with your FPS issue - they'll reduce your fps greatly! I assume you know what these cvars do? They enable better texture filtering, parallax mapping, reduce popup, and enable higher resolution models.

haha ok, that figures because they didnt help. Yea I had them saved from a while ago and assumed they helped performance, thanks

I tried another game last night, the whole thing is chaotic to play. When someone glows blue are they totally invulnerable because the medic has supercharged them or whatever

Yep they are both invulnerable for a short period of time (about 10-15 seconds?). It is best to hang back and get ready to take out the medic when it wears off.
