Think that's bad? There's a guy called James Tankersly who runs one of those "LHC Concerns" sites. He's basically this dude who misrepresents the information in respected peoples papers, and totally takes it out to further his cause on why it's going to destroy us all.
I swear he must google LHC seen on a daily basis because any news piece or blog I've seen on it has him in it.
The funniest one was a blog that these two physicists run. He was in there trying to say why it was going to kill us all, and he got a total beat down. They seriously schooled him on it. Showing all of the gaps in his knowledge and just how little he understands about physics in general.
He's all over the discussion page on that Wiki too...
It's just a particle accelerate, it's used to smash atoms into each other. There's a running joke that it will create a black hole and swallow the Earth up.
It'll be another millennium bug misconception.
Cool? Not at all, when you compare it to how that money could have been better spent on improving the place that people call home the entire project is a shambles.
