I passed my test about a month ago and have been driving round in my mum 1.6 focus for a bit to get a bit of experience and essentially learning how to drive for real!
Loving the driving, but only having the 4-5 days a week is driving me up the wall so its time for me to have my own.
I'm 23 and have a 'reasonable' job but likewise its important that my car isn't a 'banger' as such. I know people always say that your first car should be rubbish as you'll probably wrap it round a tree but I'd rather not.
I don't want a big car either, ideally a small hatchback / supermini or whatever. I've been looking at Suzuki swifts (05 regs) and although they are lovely and from what I've read, reliable, at roughly £5k they are a little out of my price range without taking a loan out.
I'm hoping to spend about £3,500 tops really and I want something thats nippy for general road use, looks sporty and is comfortable. Decent MPG would be nice with the price of petrol nowadays...
Has anyone got any ideas where I should be looking at ideally? Yaris'? Polos? Clios? Ibiza's?
Help!
