Right then,

Looking at this thread:

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17885622

Someone posted about Stevie Wonder having a "Bionic Eye" which is not true but google brings up:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2007/feb/16/news.medicineandhealth

Having talked to Zefan about this, we were talking about how far is too far, and I brought up Stelarc (Stelios Arcadiou) a man who believes the body is Obsolete and believes that if the body dies after X amount of years, that this is a design flaw.

So what does he do?

He incorporates technology into the body, he currently has a living ear growing out of his forearm, and messes about with the boundaries of the body for those of you who do not know him, google him.

I would post links but it is a family forum and he does a lot of stuff which is quite sickening and frightening to some.

I know quite abit on him, having wrote a paper on him..

So then the question! How far is to far, in terms of messing with the Body?

Sticking something in your lug which makes your lobe twice the size it should be. A bit like the girl in your sig. Looks completely crap imo.

Lol, fairplay shes not related to me in the slightest, i just think shes pretty.

I have no piercings, only tattoo work. so im pretty average.

She looks very pretty but it's a shame she had to ruin it with that silly ear mod. Still each to their own and I still respect that sentiment.

She is very pretty, i do agree about the piercing even though i find her attractive with them in, shed be just as attractive to me without them.

But without that big round stud thing she's going to have a big gaping hole in her ear and a big floppy lobe :p and I'm sorry but that just takes away the whole attractiveness imo.

Poll added. I tried putting the least severe options in first, ending with the really invasive controversial stuff.

Piercings and tatts are OK within reason. Scarification is too weird and anything past that is alien.

Prosthetic limbs is a strange one. A false leg if a person only has one leg isn't 'too much'.

Yeah I was thinking that as I stuck it in, removing as it's pretty pointless.

For me, it's piercing, but I don't think that anything beyond that is "too far" as it were, I mean if people want to do something to their body, then they can go ahead!

Good lord what on earth

Yeh wierd isnt it, i really dont get it either, they cut off anything they can think of really, slightly odd.

Same as play piercing as people get turned on from piercing themselves, how i will never know. I know of at least one forum member who gets kicks out of play piercing.

I'm not a fan of body modification for non-medical reasons. I used to have trouble even with tats but I don't have a problem with those now as long as they're not full body. Piercings I still get a bit squeamish at.

Prosthetics for genuine medical need are fine with me.

I've had my ear pierced in my younger years I'll admit (not worn a "stud" for years though) but people who go as far as pierce their knob etc. Well no sir I don't like that at all :p
