I had a Copper do that a while back when I was in my e38, I was doing about 47 in a 40, I waved back & carried on! - It was only a while later that I put two & two together & realized that she probably wanted me to stop!

Approx a year later & I have not had a peep from the Police, I think I got away with that one!

pretty much how I read my situation....

At HGV check points for example, you pretty much get the gist they want you to pull in by obvious hand signals, the difference between a local Bobby with a gun & a properly trained Traffic Cop perhaps?

There has been a lot of them around here recently, i believe they are taking down average speeds of drivers on roads that have a large number of complaints for speeders. If they clock you they send a polite letter in the post saying that you were speeding and the such but no penalty. its for the placement of new traffic control measures.

They use ANPR cameras in vans for checking tax/insurance, not a police officer standing at the side of the road with a gun.

That's how I'd read that one.

The sign for stop is pretty distinctive.

They dont take a picture, just a speed reading, they usually have another member of the scum waiting further down the road to pull you in and rape you.

If you didnt get molested at the scene you have nothing to worry about.
